Bespoke Online Directory & Community Hub Website Design for Grantham Link Magazines

When Wendy from Grantham Link Magazines first got in touch, she had a clear vision: she wanted to create an online directory that would give her magazine advertisers a space online. Each advertiser would have their own page complete with photos, an SEO-optimised write-up, and links to their website and social media.

But Wendy’s dream was bigger than a standard business directory. She wanted to build a one-stop online hub for the local community, somewhere people could find local events, clubs, children’s activities, places to visit, health and charity information, and more.

After 4 years of being told it shouldn’t be done – as there was no need for another business directory, people not understanding what she was asking for and being bombarded with tech jargon she didn’t understand, Wendy came to Primrose & Bee. We immediately saw her vision, and brought it to life.

The result is a custom WordPress website that perfectly complements her printed magazines and continues to grow month after month. We built in:

• An events calendar that’s easy to update
• Dedicated sections for local clubs, activities, and community info
• A blog area where Wendy can share guest articles and local stories
• Individual advertiser pages, each carefully optimised for search engines

This was a huge project and a real labour of love. Wendy now has ongoing website support with us as the platform continues to evolve with every new idea.
